Now, since I reduced the difficulty, someone could claim that that’s what made it boring … but I can’t imagine how having to spend so much time managing stress would have made it less boring, and instead would have just added frustration to it. So it would have been nice if it was a little more clear.Īlso, once you advance the girlfriend track enough so that one character is considered your girlfriend, the game gets incredibly boring, as events for other girls dry up and so all you can do is wait around doing the same or similar actions until you trigger a new story event. There’s also a final vote for President where it’s clear that there are some factors that matter but I had no idea what they really were. I think I increased my exam scores by studying outside of class when I already had an incredibly high intelligence and always did my homework, which the game doesn’t really tell you about. Overall, Sunrider Academy doesn’t really explain very well what you’re supposed to do or what skills and management options matter for what things. While I might have chosen her anyway if the choice had been later and it was more clear that that was the choice I was making, if I had known the details of the story I wouldn’t have chosen it, and might not have chosen it because by about half-way through the game I was definitely more interested in Ava, who it seems is the canon love interest since she gets a scene at the end of game when the other girls don’t. That being said, it being so odd doesn’t stand out that much because the game itself is pretty lighthearted, but it doesn’t work as well with that specific character.

Chigara’s path is also an extremely odd path, involving clones who both claim to love you and swap to prove something, which made it less interesting to me, even though Chigara is by far the nicest of the dateable options. As I had feared, I was locked into Chigara’s path. So, I finally finished “Sunrider Academy”, and then also discovered that “Monster Prom” is a pretty short game and so decided to give it a spin as well.įirst, “Sunrider Academy”.
